welcome to fenway park !! remember jason varitek ? good, because he’s the only starting position player that you will recognize on the red sox next year. probably. after the manny trade happens, and it will happen (mostly due to ‘yoko’ ramirez - joking) and damon signs somewhere else, here is your starting nine last year vs. this year:
2005 varitek, millar/olerud, bellhorn/cora/graffanino, renteria, mueller, nixon, damon, ramirez.
2006 varitek, youkillis?, loretta, lugo??/garciaparra??, lowell, abreu?, gathright?, not manny?
papi is still in place and they’re stacking up the pitching, so who knows ? the spankeeweeyas haven’t done squat yet. i’m still waiting for them to counterpunch. but then again, there not much left for them to pick up.
