Dreidel Champion Crowned
Dreidel spinning aficionados gathered on Manhattan’s Lower East Side recently for the Major League Dreidel championship that pits the legends of the game against each other in the world’s premier dreidel throw down. Big-name competitors like Debbie Does Dreidel, Tasmanian Dreidel and Jewbacca battled for the coveted crystal dreidel-shaped trophy by spinning the small four-sided top on progressively smaller surfaces. Howard “Virtual Dreidel” Pavony took home the prize this year, out-spinning defending champion and world-record holder Pamela “Pamskee” Goldman by 3.3 seconds.
